Welcome Greyhounds! How is everyone holding up? Season 2 ended with a BANG, and we have A LOT to process. But isn’t talking about Ted Lasso, rewatching the show and picking up new things along the way part of the fun of this community? We’re excited to do all of that with you over the coming months.
Updates from the Dogtrack
Marisa and Brett are in full on musical theater mode! Marisa is the musical director for a stage production of Newsies at our local college, and Brett is supporting her on percussion in the pit. Early returns are that the show is looking fantastic.
Did you catch our recent interviews with Annette Badland (who plays pub owner Mae in Ted Lasso) and New York Times bestselling author Gwenda Bond? Both are fantastic. Gwenda JUST released her new paranormal Rom Com novel (Not Your Average Hot Guy) last week and it’s the perfect read for Spooky SZN. We just had to have her on the pod to talk all things Rom Com, because there’s no way we would have time to dedicate enough time to the subject when we get to our Episode 5 conversation. She is the perfect person to walk us through Rom Com history, and give us some perspective about how Ted Lasso embodies the genre.
So…Emmy night was fun. Ted Lasso picked up SEVEN wins for Season 1. Congrats to the entire team on receiving deserved recognition for a job well done.
Shoutout to Don B. for winning a Ted Lasso pint glass in our monthly Patreon Giveaway!
Christian had a busy month over at Fatherly with a handful of parenting stories. And he took a quick diversion from his usual stories about health and behavioral science to pen a piece on 4 Ways This Season of Ted Lasso Really Was Like The Empire Strikes Back - And One Way it Wasn’t.
We are ramping our production schedule up with awesome podcast episodes. We have two great interviews recorded, another couple scheduled this month, and we will begin our Season 2 conversations in just a couple of weeks. The Podcast feed is going to be HOT!

Ted’s Touchline Tidbits
Apparently Ted Lasso’s wardrobe looks to University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh for inspiration. Although Ted has way better kicks.
Nearly 10 minutes of Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham just shooting the breeze. Absolutely lovely.
Ted Lasso signed a MASSIVE deal with the EPL to use all types of licensed content from the league in season 3.
Jason Sudeikis “accidentally leaked” the Ted Lasso season 3 storyboard during a recent interview.
Juno Temple talked to Vanity Fair about Keeley Jones in Vanity Fair. It’s like Ted Lasso inception.

Corner Kicks for the Soccer Curious
It’s been a rough month for the NWSL. A scandal has gripped the league, matches have been postponed, and the Championship match has been relocated from Portland to Louisville. Fans are trying to walk the line of supporting the players while holding league leadership accountable.
Erling Haaland is one of the finest footballers in the world. Obviously.
Finnish midfileder Tim Sparv wants to keep the focus on human rights violations in the lead up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Perhaps the most popular videogame franchise on the planet is EA Sports FIFA Soccer. But the franchise is considering shedding the FIFA branding.
