Welcome Greyhounds! Thanks so much for checking out our FIRST EVER newsletter. Our hope is that it’s a fun and interesting way to stay up-to-date with what we have going on, and for us to tip you off to things we think you’ll enjoy. We see a LOT of Ted Lasso (and Ted Lasso-adjacent) content across the internet, and we are excited to share some of that with you.
Updates from the Dogtrack
We LOVED the first episode of Season 2. Just a reminder that we are going to save our episode conversations until after the season is complete, but we will still be putting plenty of stuff out there.
Have you seen our Ted Lasso Fly Footwear Countdown for Season 1? It started as a twitter thread a few months ago but we turned it into a blog post for easy reading. Ted Lasso’s shoe game is A+.
This week Christian had a piece up on Fatherly about LassoCon. And LassoCon 2 is currently in the planning stages, so keep your ears out for the next virtual gathering!
Christian also had a couple of parenting pieces go live this week. One on Authoritative Parenting, and the other on 3 Things Boys Get From Parents That Girls Still Don’t.
Marisa and Brett announced that they will be involved with stage productions of Newsies and Legally Blonde this year!
Remember our friends at Three KC Clothing Co? It’s the company that makes the shirts Ted Lasso is so fond of sleeping in on the show. Well beginning next week they are offering 15% off orders from their website. Use the discount code “TILWEDIE” to look fly and save some money.
Also, we are giving away a shirt from Three KC to one of our lucky Patreon supporters this month. There’s still time to get in on the action.
Ted’s Touchline Tidbits
We are starting to think people like this Ted Lasso show. It officially became the most-watched program on AppleTV+, and Season 2 brought in the biggest premier audience for the show to date.
Diane Sawyer is tweet-flirting with Ted Lasso. We may have a pond-crossing power couple on our hands.
Rebecca Waddingham celebrated a birthday this week. Wonder if Ted made her the same birthday biscuits he made for Trent Crimm: The Independent’s daughter but then gave to Higgins?
The AFC Richmond twitter account is going all in. They reported on fans showing love for Earl, and ran a Dani Rojas post-match interview.
And, hey. If you’re looking for a way to help Greyhounds in real life, might we suggest MoKan Greyhound Adoption. From their website: “We are a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation founded for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets. Our programs depend on donations and volunteers to accomplish our wonderful mission.”
Musical Theater Moves
Thanks to a Hamilton reference in S2E1, we were able to add Right Hand Man to our curated Ted Lasso’s Musical Theater Playlist! We showed great restraint by not adding the entire album, the Hamilton Mixtape and the instrumentals. You can find what we have put together on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.
Speaking of Hamilton, Lin Manuel Miranda gave Ted Lasso a shout.
Beginning Aug 13, Museum of the City of New York will showcase puppets from Avenue Q, The Lion King, Sesame Street and more! Seems like a place you might find Roy Kent passing time in retirement.
Marisa and Brett have given their stamp of approval to Schmigadoon. The musical theater themed comedy on AppleTV+ has a lot to like for the Ted Lasso crowd.
Corner Kicks for the Soccer Curious
The hottest soccer scene on the planet right now is the Olympics women’s tournament. The quarterfinals start Friday, and the tournament is wide open. The time difference between the US and Japan can be a challenge but folks are still watching. 1.2million people tuned in to the last USWNT match, which started at 4:30am PT/7:30am ET.
Crystal Dunn is one of our favorite players and Caitlin Murray has a great profile of her up at ESPN.
The best soccer story of the week comes courtesy of Kevin Dawson, a goalkeeper for Peñarol in Uruguay. He had just won a big match against his former squad, Plaza Colonia. But, instead of celebrating, he decided to give an opposition fan the chance to hit a penalty against him.
Thanks for checking out our Newsletter! We always love to hear from folks so feel free to hit us up. Until next time, Cheers.
Brett, Marisa and Christian

When you're here, you're a Greyhound!
